Lincoln Navigator Concept at the 2016 LA International Auto Show

29366806190_00777ae930_z-1Lincoln brought the Navigator concept to the 2016 New York Auto Show and it immediately grabbed the spotlight. The full-size SUV concept reappeared at the 2016 Los Angeles International Auto Show and stunned show goers nonetheless. The Lincoln Navigator concept presents some major changes to the popular luxury SUV, many of which received a warm welcome from drivers.

While none of the changes are guaranteed to make it to a production model, the Navigator concept is clearly designed to explore every avenue. The concept vehicle boasts a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 400 hp, the same engine in the 2017 MKZ and Continental. The SUV features all-wheel drive, plenty of active safety features, and multiple driving modes.

The Lincoln Navigator concept sets itself apart from the segment with gull-wing doors that aren’t likely to make it to a production model. Concertina steps automatically deploy when the door is opened but, again, are unlikely to make it to production.

The interior is wrapped in light blue leather. Six 30-way adjustable seats, like those in the Continental, ensure maximum comfort. Rear seat passengers can enjoy high-resolution displays located in the back of the head restraints.

The Navigator is set for a redesign sooner rather than later. We’ll just have to wait and see what features make it to the production model.

We here at Plaza Lincoln can’t wait for the arrival of the new Lincoln Navigator!
